Jessica Lange Is Definitely Done With American Horror Story But Look Who's Checking in...

Youtube Good news and bad news, American Horror Story fans. Queen Jessica Lange confirmed at tonight's PaleyFest panel that she will not return for American Horror Story: Hotel. "Yes, I'm done," she told the audience, "We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I've loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in new orleans, the stories, everything." While that is definitely not music to our ears, the panel did offer up a few happier Hotel tidbits, like the fact that White Collar star Matt Bomer will be joining the show for the season, along with 30 Rock star Cheyenne Jackson. Both Bomer and Jackson are pretty familiar with Ryan Murphy and co, having both guest starred on Glee. Bomer also appeared in American Horror Story: Freak Show as a prostitute who was brutally murdered by Dandy ...

Is American Horror Story “Radically Reinventing” Itself So Jessica Lange Will Return?

BY FRANK OCKENFELS/FX The one thing we can consistently rely on when it comes to American Horror Story is change. Each season the show changes everything from cast members to location to time period. So just how big must next season’s changes be to inspire FX president John Landgraf to call them “unusually large?” We’re guessing pretty big. Landgraf was pretty careful to maintain an air of mystery around next year’s theme. (Something creator Ryan Murphy insists on.) But he did tease the following : I know what it is, but I can’t [say]. I have to let Ryan do his thing on that. But it’s very different. . . One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast. I think there’s going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show]. The only problem being that what we think we know about Season (or are we callin...

6 Reasons This Can’t Be Jessica Lange’s Last ‘American Horror Story’ Season

As amazing as the current season of “ American Horror Story ” has been so far, with its extraordinary physical specimens, murderous intrigues, and gratuitous tighty-whitey workouts by its petulant villain, the whole thing has also been imbued with a certain creeping melancholy: the further we get into the fantastic plot of “Freak Show,” the closer we come to Jessica Lange’s last appearance as the series’ grande dame . It’s been widely reported that this will be La Lange’s last season on the show, without so much as a whisper of news that she might reconsider and stay. And with the end of “Freak Show” already looming, it’s time to stop pussyfooting around reality: Jessica Lange CANNOT be finished with “American Horror Story” yet. We won’t allow it! And here’s why. 1. She’s clearly not done doing accents. Between this season’s sultry German growl and the gritty Boston patois of “American Horror Story: Asylum,” Jessica Lange is clearly not done displaying her talent for di...
