Nissan recalls Infiniti SUVs to fix air bags

DETROIT (AP) — Nissan says it’s recalling more than 1,800 Infiniti SUVs in the U.S. for an air bag problem that could send shrapnel into the passenger compartment.
The recall covers some QX56 SUVs from 2013 and the QX80s from 2014. The company says inflators made by Takata Corp. were built with an incorrect outer baffle part. That can cause pressure to build up, and the inflators can rupture if driver’s side air bags are deployed.
Nissan has no reports of injuries from the problem. It was discovered after General Motors recalled 33,000 Cruze compact cars for the same problem in June. The Infiniti recall is part of a larger global recall of 260,000 Nissans announced last week.
Takata says the recall only affects GM and Nissan vehicles and is separate from another one covering 8 million vehicles in the U.S. In that recall, prolonged exposure to high humidity can cause inflators to malfunction and explode with too much force. Safety advocates say four people have died due to that problem, w…

New Halloween Harry Potter story by J.K. Rowling published online today

In what is most definitely a treat for Harry Potter fans, author J.K. Rowling will post a brand new Halloween-themed story online today.

The 1700-word story, to be published on Pottermore.com, focuses on Hogwarts professor and former witch Dolores Umbridge, who first appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Umbridge, who featured as the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters, she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry.

Do you agree with @jk_rowling that Bellatrix Lestrange and Dolores Umbridge are as bad as each other? pic.twitter.com/reRFBt7YJC

Assassin’s Creed Unity: Time Anomaly Trailer Sheds New Light on Contemporary Subplot

Earlier this week, Ubisoft quietly dropped another new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity. The Time Anomaly trailer gave players their first hint at the contemporary storyline that will carry over into the game. In the previous games, Desmond Miles was plugged into the Animus, which detected the “genetic memories” of his ancestors. Desmond Miles is out of the picture, so the main franchise story will likely move in the direction of another character’s bloodline. The previous games featured the ancestors of Desmond Miles, and Arno Dorian is not Desmond’s ancestor. The brand new trailer offers the first look at the present-day timeline. It appears that the stakes of using the Animus have changed. The Time Anomaly trailer offers some exciting new wrinkles for the Assassin’s Creed unity storyline.
The voice of an unknown female character warns an unnamed Assassin that the French Revolution simulation is collapsing. The Assassin is likely the main player or character and the descendant of A…

Charlie Sheen Says Network Is Open to His ‘Two and a Half Men’ Return (Video)

“They know that I want to do it, and I know that they're open to it,” he said. “So I guess we're just a meeting away from making it happen”

Charlie Sheen is still talking about the possibility of him returning to his former CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” now that the Chuck Lorre series is in its 12th and final season. His latest chat about it came during an interview on “Extra” with Terri Seymour Thursday.

The interview came during filming of the 90th episode of Sheen's 100-episode commitment to FX's “Anger Management,” meaning his schedule should be open in time for filming of “Two and a Half Men's” final episodes.

When she asked him if he would consider re-upping with “Anger Management,” Sheen quickly quipped, “Never leave a hit show … unless you're fired.” Sheen was fired from “Men” in 2011 after making disparaging remarks about Lorre and CBS. He had been in a drug rehabilitation center several times in the year prior.

With the topic broached, the actor talked…

411 Games Fact or Fiction: Will Game of Thrones Release in 2014?

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Fact or Fiction. As always, I am Daniel Anderson, and I hope everyone has had a good week. We have a lot to talk about this week as we had some interesting news items. Anyway this week we have 411’s Jeremy Thomas going against Stephen Randle. Let’s see what they have to say, shall we?

1.) If the newly announced $50 price drop does not let Microsoft sell more Xbox Ones then PS4’s, they will lose this console generation.

Jeremy Thomas – Fiction: People are trying to call the current-gen console war over too quickly. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and while PS4 has the advantage there’s no evidence that will remain the same. Honestly I consider the “win” and “loss” of any particular generation to be ridiculous anyway. It’s part of the continued polarization of society, which infects pop culture and turns fun things ugly. Marvel vs. DC. Xbox vs. Playstation. WWE vs. TNA. The media loves a war between two sides and has ever since the da…

Google now gives the control to the webmaster to disable the feature completely.
For example, if you search for in Google, Google will add a box under the first YouTube result, that lets you search within just the youtube.com domain, this also known as a site command search. Apple CEO Tim Cook Shares New Details on Apple Pay, Apple Watch

From admonishing his home state's record on gay rights to revealing new details about the Apple Watch, it's fair to say Tim Cook has had a busy 24 hours.

The Apple CEO was inducted into the Alabama Academy of Honor on Monday, and he used the opportunity to encourage lawmakers in the state to move toward equality for all people.

Alabama is "still too slow on equality for the LGBT community. Under the law, citizens of Alabama can still be fired based on their sexual orientation," Cook said, according to the Associated Press. "We can't change the past, but we can learn from it and we can create a different future."

In the evening, Cook attended the Wall Street Journal Digital Conference in Laguna Beach, California, where he revealed more details about Apple's success and dropped hints about what's to come.

Apple's mobile payments solution had a strong debut -- in the first three days, Cook said there were more than 1 million credit cards a…

Tesla Announces a New Leasing Package for Its Electric Cars

Tesla Motors has unveiled a new package of lease offers for its Model S all-electric sedan, including a three-month return policy.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s chief executive, said in a statement posted on the company’s website over the weekend that drivers who take out Model S leases have a three-month trial period during which they can return the car.

“If you don’t like our car for any reason in the first three months, you can just return it and your remaining lease obligation is waived,” Mr. Musk said.

The deal is not without its limits, however. Drivers cannot use the deal to immediately lease a different Model S, though Mr. Musk said buyers looking to upgrade early can do so with a “pass-through fee” to cover the difference between the used value of the current Tesla and the new one.

The automaker also announced an arrangement with U.S. Bank to begin offering Tesla leases for less than the company itself currently provides. Mr. Musk estimated the leases through U.S. Bank could be up to 25 per…

When NASCAR legend Terry Labonte takes the green flag at the start of the Geico 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on Sunday, it’ll mark his 890th start at NASCAR’s top level, but even more significantly, it’s expected to be his final career NASCAR start.
Labonte is a two-time Cup champion, winning championships in 1984 and 1996, the first for car owner Billy Hagan and the second for Rick Hendrick. His career stats include 22 wins, 182 top-fives and 361 top-10 finishes.
Labonte began his NASCAR premier level career with his debut in the 1978 Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. He went full-time Cup racing the following year, the same year as seven-time champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt. In 1980, a return to Darlington resulted in Labonte’s first-career Cup win.
Labonte last raced full-time in 2004, but he has made at least one start every year since. Since 2011, Labonte has raced a limited schedule for the Frank Stoddard-owned Go FAS…
